Are you trained in the Orton-Gillingham Method? Or one of the methods in the Orton-Gillingham family, such as Wilson, Barton,  Slingerland, Take Flight, MTA, Neuhaus, Lindamood-Bell or another? Teachers with Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) or Academic Language Therapist training also qualify.

Our tutors enjoy flexible hours and the ability to work from home. In addition, we are able to give tutors students in time slots that are difficult for them to fill locally.

If you are interested, please contact us using the form below, and we will get back to you promptly with more information.

Thanks!

After my oldest daughter was diagnosed as dyslexic and went through years of tutoring, I was trained myself. I have worked with individual students, as well as with small groups and have 4 years of experience as a Reading Intervention teacher in a Title 1 elementary school.

To become a dyslexia tutor, what credentials do I require? Will I need to obtain a teaching certificate? And what methods would you recommend that I train in? Thank you- Beth McGlynn

Hi I am a tutor with my P-3 and K-5 teaching certifications from the State of New Jersey. I am interested in getting my dyslexia certification from Dyslexia Training Institute, do you accept that certification to be a tutor in your program? Please advise. Thank you. Jen Jaworski

      1. Hi, Jen. Thanks for your question. Yes, we do accept certification from the Dyslexia Training Institute. We have a number of tutors who were trained by them.

    4. Jennifer Jaworski

Thank you for your reply. I have been working as a tutor for a company in New Jersey for over three years. I should be able to fulfil the full requirements to get my certificate from the Dyslexia Training Institute but if I can only get just the academic portion, would that still be acceptable? Thank you. Jen Jaworski
